Speakers Hive organizes two sets of contests:

Jan - Jun Term - Storytelling and Just-a-Minute Talks Contests

Jul - Dec Term - Inspirational Speech and Peer-Review Contests

In 2026, the Jul - Dec Term contests will be held only at the chapter level. Jan - Jun contests ended at Zonal level.

The contest organizers can use the resources given below:

2. Contest Role Players - List of Role players needed to organize a contest
3. Contest Master Script - Sample Contest Master Script to use during the contests
4. Time Keeper Worksheet - Worksheet used by Time Keepers to record the time usage by contestants
5. Judges Scoring Ballot - Used by Voting Judges 
6. Tally Counter Template - Used by Ballot Counter after Judges pick their #1, #2, and #3 scorers to decide the Winner / Runner Up / Second Runner Up
7. Sample Online Judging Ballot Form - Used by Judges to enter the top #1, #2 and #3 from their list

Changes to Speech and Leadership Mastery Beginner Level 1 Curriculum

It is about 14 months since we launched Speakers Hive. We have conducted 150+ meetings, providing 3000+ speaking opportunities for members and guests. We are continuously learning, adapting and improving our curriculum to meet the needs of our members.

Our last update to the Beginner Level 1 Program completion criteria was made on Mar 2026. This update mandated the completion of 39 projects (5 Hive Talks Speeches, 25 Meeting Roles and 9 Meeting Organization Roles) for a member to become eligible for an integrated Speech Mastery & Leadership Mastery Beginner Level 1 Certification. It took a member, roughly 9 months to complete a Beginner Level 1 Program. The old criteria for Speech Mastery and Leadership Mastery Beginner Level 1 Program can be downloaded from here.

We want our members to complete the Beginner Level 1 milestone in 6 months time frame - to help them sustain their enthusiasm to learn.   

Today, we are updating the criteria for Beginner Level 1 Program completion to enable our members to complete a level in 6 months time frame. This update expects the members to complete 25 projects (5 Hive Talks Speeches, 17 Meeting Roles and 3 Meeting Organization Roles) to become eligible for an integrated Speech Mastery & Leadership Mastery Beginner Level 1 Certification. We hope this update will encourage a number of our members to complete their Beginner Level 1 certification and advance to Level 2 and beyond. 

We will also soon formalize the process to apply for your Level completion certificates. Stay tuned.

FAQ

1. I have already completed Speech Mastery & Leadership Mastery Beginner Level 1 certification and received an award at our annual conference. I played more roles than what is mandated by the new curriculum. Can I carry over my credits to Level 2?

No

2. I have already completed Speech Mastery & Leadership Mastery Beginner Level 1 certification and yet to submit my Projects Completion record to Speakers Hive Head Quarters. Can I carry over my excess credits to Level 2?

Yes

3. I have already completed Speech Mastery & Leadership Mastery Beginner Level 1 certification requirements. Should I wait till the next annual conference to receive my award?

You can fill the new Projects Completion Record form and share it with the L&D Manager. He/She will process your application. You don't have to wait till the next conference to receive your certificate. It will be mailed to your home address directly.
